Belknap Campus New Residence Halls

University of Louisville

The University of Louisville desired to replace two of its aging dormitory buildings to enhance student life experience and increase its sustainable building inventory.

Loftus Engineering provided the mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering services for the new dormitories, built in two phases, to allow use, and then demolition of the buildings that were being replaced on the Belknap campus.

While the two dormitories were substantially the same, a portion of the first floor of each building was dedicated to a different function.  The first residence hall contained space for the campus Cultural Center, while the second building housed an Innovation Center for student project collaboration activities.
