East 38th Street Community Health Center

This project is a new 95,000 square foot Community Health Center, incorporating a broad range of health clinics and community resources for the Indianapolis East Side.

The 2-story facility includes 6 primary care clinic pods, serving the Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in the building.  In addition, the center contains optical, dental, imaging, physical therapy, mood clinic, financial counselling and community space with teaching kitchen and café.

A community garden is located on the grounds, and a green roof area accentuates the outdoor second floor patio space for staff and event purposes.

Loftus Engineering was responsible for the mechanical and electrical engineering of the HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and lighting, power and technology systems design for the Community Health Center.  The project earned LEED Silver Certification.
