SR 9 - I-70 Interchange Gateway

City of Greenfield, Indiana

The City of Greenfield commissioned this project to attract visitors into town via it´s only interstate exit, to promote the City and its economic development.

Phase I of the I-70 Gateway Project includes six steel towers, faced with an outer shell of steel and glass, at heights of 37', 47', and 57' above the roadway.

These towers, along with four street-level limestone beacons, provide a lighted gateway into the City of Greenfield. The lighting on the towers is changeable, to reflect specific holidays or time of the year.

Phase II of the gateway project adds medians to State Road 9 into Greenfield, with additional beacons and landscape lighting.
