Bicentennial Plaza

State of Indiana

The Bicentennial Plaza is located on the west side of the State House, along three blocks of Senate Avenue and stretching west, down Robert D. Orr Plaza. This public space is accessible to Indiana Government Center employees, visitors and citizens, and was created to commemorate Indiana’s 200th anniversary of statehood. A large water feature is located at its center, with public art pieces located to the north and south of the plaza.

Loftus Engineering designed the lighting for the project, incorporating existing and new luminaires for general and landscape feature lighting, including the public art; the Torch and an interpretation of a time capsule.  The firm also performed the electrical engineering that established a power source for the entire project and distributed circuitry and controls to the entire project.
