Biochemistry Building Annex Lab Renovation

Purdue University

This project began as a comprehensive feasibility study to develop a preliminary design report and cost opinion to renovate the third floor of Purdue University’s Biochemistry Annex Building. The report examined 18 separate energy conservation measures (ECM) and variations to determine which measures offered the best value for the renovation project.

The completely remodeled 5,100 square foot third floor lab space includes lab benches, analytical work stations, offices, equipment room and tissue culture room for 18 researchers. Much of the casework is moveable, so quick-disconnect lab services are distributed throughout for flexibility. Low flow, high performance fume hoods are incorporated into the lab.
