Campus 10 Year Lighting Master Plan
Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
The goal of the 10-Year Lighting Master Plan was to perform a campus-wide evaluation of existing outdoor lighting levels and quality, identify and prioritize improvement projects and develop a 10-year implementation plan.
Until recently, the responsibility of site lighting on campus rested with the new construction or renovation projects that occurred on campus.
These projects would address adjacent outdoor spaces and walking paths. As a result of this master plan effort, University standards were reviewed and defined and a foundation to support and fund independent improvement projects was developed. This will serve to improve both safety and aesthetics throughout the West Lafayette campus.
