This renovation and new construction project for East Tippecanoe Middle School increased the school’s recreation and athletic space, as well as upgrading selected academic areas.

Specifically, the new gymnasium addition houses the main gym, locker rooms, public restrooms, storage, laundry and equipment rooms, as well as a new classroom. Vacating the existing gym allowed the design team to repurpose it into a multipurpose space, in combination with new band and choral space, and one new classroom.

Other renovations in the school were part of this project, such as remodeling the kitchen and server space, remodeling the family and consumer science classroom and upgrading several other general classrooms.

Additional general work throughout the school included:

-Complete replacement of the existing intercom system

-Replacement of all site and parking lighting

-Addition of a fire pump

Replacement and upsizing of generator

-Central sound system in new music rooms with amplification and recording capability

Loftus Engineering performed the electrical and lighting engineering services for the project, in addition to the fire alarm, audio and access control systems design.
